Compost for Horticulture

Spreading compost on established fruit crops, whether top fruit or soft fruit at a depth of 25 to 75mm can immensely improve the quality and overall production of the crop. Nutrients will be washed down and filtrate through the soil to feed the crop and the compost will not only aid weed suppression but provides an increased level of water retention.

We are able to provide a full service for this application from the testing and advising stage through to supply, delivery and application of the product under the trees. FGS Organics have several different specifications of spreaders available for application of the compost suiting all customers’ specifications.

FGS Organics have conducted trial work with organisations such as REMADE and WRAP where we assisted with the supply, delivery and application of PAS100 QP compost to established and newly planted orchards with results of the trials showing in the region of a 30% increase in the number of fruit per tree without having any detrimental effect in the fruit quality or size.
