Steve grew up on a farm and developed an interest in farming and farm machinery from an early age, working with his father. Today he is the Operations Co-ordinator for FGS Organics: coordinating the people, machinery and systems that we use to deliver our services to customers.
Steve is an accomplished mechanic and has a keen eye for health and safety. He is more than happy to provide cover for machine operators which keeps him in touch with all aspects of the machines.
Steve studied agricultural engineering at South Kent College and went onto work on land drainage. He began working for FGS in Feb 2003 working in the workshop as well as baling and cultivating as needed. As the business grew, Steve became more involved with the general repairs of the haulage fleet in addition to the repair and maintenance of the agricultural equipment. Before his move to FGS Organics, Steve moved to the Thames contract to maintain the self-propelled spreaders and assisted with the maintenance and repair of loading shovels, telehandlers and other plant and equipment for Thames Water.
